I've never been satisfied or comfortable with how the governmental organization I work for manages the implementation of IT projects. So when I started hearing about Scrum, I was very interested. I wanted change, but not sure what it looked like. Ironically, these are the types of projects that Scrum is best suited for.
I watched a couple of presentations and decided I wanted to incorporate it into my governmental organization. I manage the web, mobile, and pc applications section of the IT department. We inherited Waterfall 15 years ago from the pre-existing mainframe methodology. While we are ripe for change, there will no doubt be resistance. I decide that I'd like to target some projects as candidates for Scrum. We will adopt a hidden scrum approach for now.
